Titled, "How to Examine Your Breasts," this deceptively simple but brilliantly written brochrue originally was published in English and approved by the American Cancer Society. It was modified and translated by IHEA to apply to other cultures in order to cross lanugage and cultural barriers.

Describes three simple ways a woman can save her own life by detecting breast cancer early:

1. annual mammograms
2. clinical breast exams
3. monthly breast self-exams (BSE)

Explains the when and why of self-examination and what to do if a lump or thickening is found.

Discusses the characteristics of the higher risk populations, while emphasizing that all women are at risk. Prescribes in detail three methods of self-examination: in the shower, in front of a mirror and lying down.
